Jay F. Whitacre

Jay F. Whitacre is chief technology officer of Aquion Energy; he is also assistant professor of engineering and public policy/materials science and engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2008, he founded Aquion, a company that has since garnered over $30 million in funding. His current focus is on developing functional materials systems and performing economic/environmental impact assessments for energy technologies. He has held various positions at California Institute of Technology and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Whitacre worked on the two most recent Mars Rover missions.
