Director, The Franklin Project, The Aspen Institute
Jason Mangone is director of the Franklin Project for the Aspen Institute, which is leading the effort to give young people in the United States the opportunity to do a paid year of national service in areas including health, poverty, conservation, or education. Mangone was previously a research associate in the Military Fellows program at the Council on Foreign Relations from 2010 to 2011. He served as an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010. As a platoon commander with Third Battalion, Second Marines, he led Marines on three deployments in Iraq, the Middle East, and Haiti.
