Senior Editor, Quartz
Gideon Lichfield is senior editor of Quartz. He joined the site in 2012 as its first news editor, leading the creation of its house style and news agenda. Before that, he spent 16 years at The Economist, including stints as a science writer and as the paper’s correspondent in Mexico City, Moscow, and Jerusalem. Lichfield has also taught at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. He is currently a fellow at the Data & Society Research Institute, experimenting with the use of science fiction as a journalistic tool for exploring the implications of data-related technologies.
