Geoffrey West is Distinguished Professor and former president of the Santa Fe Institute and Associate Fellow of Oxford University’s Martin School. He was previously on the faculty at Stanford. West’s research includes metabolism, aging and death, sleep, cancer, ecosystems, the dynamics of cities, and rates of growth and innovation. He has been featured in The New York Times, The Economist, Financial Times, Wired, Scientific American, National Geographic, and on the BBC. His work was selected as a breakthrough idea by Harvard Business Review and for TIME's 2006 list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
