Executive Director, Center for Native American Youth, The Aspen Institute
Erin Bailey is executive director of the Center for Native American Youth at the Aspen Institute. She came to the Institute from the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, where she was the health policy advisor under former Senator Byron Dorgan. She worked on the Indian Health Care Improvement Act and led Dorgan’s efforts to prevent Native American youth suicide and improve mental health care services in Indian Country. She has received many awards in recent years, including American Indian Society’s 2013 Daniel K. Inouye Indigenous Spirit Award. She also works on a suicide prevention task force and sits on the board of a nonprofit that works with grieving children.
