Elliot Goldenthal is a composer who creates works for orchestra, theater, opera, ballet, and film. Goldenthal most recently composed the original music for a production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Julie Taymor, which ran as the inaugural production at Theatre for a New Audience’s new home in Brooklyn. It received four Drama Desk nominations, including outstanding music in a play for Goldenthal. His Symphony in G-Sharp Minor premiered with the Pacific Symphony in Costa Mesa, CA, in May. Goldenthal was a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in music for his opera Grendel.
