Co-Founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief, Chalkbeat; Author, Building a Better Teacher: How Teaching Works (and How to Teach It to Everyone)
Elizabeth Green is co-founder, CEO, and editor in chief of Chalkbeat, a nonprofit news organization covering educational-change efforts in the communities where improvement matters most. She previously co-founded GothamSchools, now Chalkbeat New York. Green has written about education issues for The New York Times Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and many other publications. In 2009 and 2010, she was a Spencer Fellow in education journalism at Columbia University, and in 2011, she was an Abe Journalism Fellow studying education in Japan. She is the author of the New York Times best-seller Building a Better Teacher and serves on the board of the Education Writers Association.
