
Duanqing Pei is founding executive director of Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory. A research scientist who specializes in regenerative medicine, he is also a professor and academic director at Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Guangzhou, China), where he was previously director general. Prior to that, Pei was on the medical faculty and later, head of the pharmacology department, at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He obtained his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, trained as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Michigan, and was on the faculty of University of Minnesota School of Medicine.
