Don Baer is worldwide chair and CEO of strategic communications firm Burson-Marsteller, a WPP company. His career has spanned leading roles as a media, communications, and creative executive for a range of business, government, and nonprofit organizations. He served as senior vice president for strategy and development at Discovery Communications and White House director of strategic planning and communications, as well as chief speechwriter, for President Clinton. Earlier in his career, Baer was a lawyer and assistant managing editor at US News & World Report. He chairs the board of directors of PBS and is a member of the board of Meredith Corporation.
