Darrell Kirch is president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges. Previously, he was dean and academic health system leader of Medical College of Georgia and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. A psychiatrist and clinical neuroscientist by training, he began his career at the National Institute of Mental Health. Kirch co-chairs the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience, is a founding member of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative, and serves on the US Department of Veterans Affairs Special Medical Advisory Group and the American College of Psychiatrists Board of Regents. He received the Outstanding Service Medal from the US Public Health Service.
