Co-Founder and Co-Director, Advancement Project
Connie Rice is co-director of Advancement Project, a public policy and legal action group that supports organizations working to end community problems and address racial, class and other barriers to opportunity. She was co-director of the Los Angeles office of the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund. She was an associate at the law firm of Morrison & Foerster and clerked for US Court of Appeals Judge Damon J. Keith. In 2006, Los Angeles Times West magazine named Rice one of the 100 most powerful people in Southern California, and California Law Business twice named her one of the state’s top 10 most influential lawyers.
