Musician, Actor, and Activist; CEO, Think Common
Common is an award-winning artist, actor, and activist. Focusing his social justice and advocacy work on mass incarceration, mental health, and voting, he launched the nonprofit Imagine Justice and the Common Ground Foundation, which operates educational programs in Chicago. Common has released twelve albums, most recently A Beautiful Revolution Part 1, from which the track “A Place in This World” was used in Michelle Obama’s 2020 get-out-the-vote campaign. A television and film producer and actor, his most recent film credits include Ava and The Informer in 2020; the Oscar-nominated Selma included his song “Glory,” which won an Academy Award and Golden Globe. Common authored two best-selling memoirs, One Day It’ll All Make Sense and Let Love Have the Last Word.
