Student Activist; Founder, Our Destiny STL
Clifton Kinnie is a student activist and recent graduate from Lutheran High School North. As a youth leader in the Ferguson movement, he launched a small, student-based group, Our Destiny STL, which focuses on community outreach, youth leadership, organizing demonstrations and protests inside and outside of school, youth voter registration, community building, community service, and mentorship. Kinnie feels he is working in the legacy of his mother, a former social worker who passed away in July. He has been featured in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The New York Times, and the mini-documentary Hands Up. Recently accepted to Howard University and Morehouse College, he plans to continue engaging with youth.
