Chris Estes is co-executive director of the Community Strategies Group at the Aspen Institute, which helps develop and adapt strategies and policy that build prosperity in communities and regions. His work is centered on a framework for equitable rural prosperity. Previously, Estes was a senior consultant with the Housing Assistance Council, helping 40 rural organizations across the country build capacity and community development efforts. Prior to that, he was interim executive director of the Raleigh/Wake Partnership to End Homelessness and vice president of business strategy and advocacy at Rebuilding Together, a national network of local nonprofits providing home repair to low-income homeowners. Estes has been president and CEO of the National Housing Conference and led the North Carolina Housing Coalition.
