CHIAOZZA is the collaborative artistic practice of Terri Chiao and Adam Frezza, who have since 2011 engaged audiences worldwide in projects spanning sculpture, painting, works on paper, installation and public art. Their work is rooted in the belief that play is a collaborative tool for bringing out the wondrous, the magical and the humorous in the everyday. CHIAOZZA’s public works include “Charm Valley,” a seven-piece sculptural installation on the East Lawn during Aspen Ideas Festival that’s similar to two previous installations in New Jersey. Their goal with public art is to engage viewers in physical, mental and spiritual open-ended play, encouraging a sense of optimism and creating connections among people and between people and their environments. CHIAOZZA rhymes with “wowza.”
