Director of Digital Currency, MIT Media Lab
Brian Forde is the director of digital currency at the MIT Media Lab, where he leads efforts to mainstream digital currencies like Bitcoin through research and incubation of high-impact applications of the emerging technology. He previously served as a senior advisor for mobile and data innovation at the White House, spearheading efforts to leverage emerging technologies to address President Obama’s national priorities. He also helped formulate the White House Tech Inclusion and TechHire initiatives. Forde founded Llamadas, S.A., one of the largest Internet phone companies in Nicaragua after serving as a volunteer there in the Peace Corps. He has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
