Brian Brooks

Brian Brooks is CEO of Bitfury Group, a bitcoin mining and crypto tech company. Prior to this, he was CEO of Binance.US, a global cryptocurrency exchange. In 2020 and early 2021, Brooks was acting US comptroller of the currency, during which time he chartered America’s first fintech and crypto banks, sat on the FDIC Board of Directors, and was a voting member of the US Treasury Department’s Financial Stability Oversight Council. Earlier in his career, he was chief legal officer of Coinbase, general counsel of Fannie Mae, and vice chairman of OneWest Bank. A board member or advisor to financial firms including Voyager Digital, Protego Trust Bank, and Liberty Strategic Capital, Brooks also serves on the LA Opera board.
