​President and CEO, Rare​

​Brett Jenks is president and CEO of Rare, a global conservation organization whose mission is to equip people in biologically diverse countries with the tools and motivation to sustainably manage their natural resources. During his tenure, he has created partnerships with Bloomberg Philanthropies, The Nature Conservancy, UNESCO, and many more. Previously, Jenks was a journalist and video and commercial producer. He built an eco-tourism program in Costa Rica, where he was field coordinator for WorldTeach, a nonprofit based at Harvard’s Center for International Development. Jenks is a Catto Fellow, Braddock Scholar, McNulty Prize laureate with the Aspen Institute, member of the Closed Loop Fund’s investment committee, and advisor to the Grantham Trust. He received the 2017 Rose-Walters Prize for Global Environmental Activism.​
