Arthur Brooks is the William Henry Bloomberg Professor of the Practice of Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School and a professor of management practice at Harvard Business School. Previously, he was president of the American Enterprise Institute for ten years. Prior to that, Brooks was a professor of business and government at Syracuse University. Earlier in his career, he spent twelve years as a professional French hornist. Brooks is the author of twelve books, including the national best-seller From Strength to Strength. He is a columnist for The Atlantic, host of the podcast “How to Build a Happy Life,” and the subject of the 2019 documentary film The Pursuit. He gives more than 100 speeches per year around the world.
