Ariel Pablos-Mendez

Ariel Pablos-Méndez is assistant administrator for global health and child and maternal survival coordinator for USAID. He previously worked for the Rockefeller Foundation: as managing director from 2007 to 2011, leading its initiative on transformation of health systems toward universal health coverage, and as a program officer from 1998 to 2004, spearheading R&D partnerships for diseases of poverty, strategy on AIDS treatment in Africa, and an initiative on human resources for health. Pablos-Méndez led the Global Surveillance Project on Anti-Tuberculosis Drug Resistance at the World Health Organization in 1997. He began his public health career at Columbia University, working on the emergence of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis in New York City.
