​Deputy National Climate Advisor, White House Climate Policy Office​

​Ali Zaidi is deputy national climate advisor and deputy assistant to the president, leading the White House Climate Policy Office. He joined the Biden-Harris administration after serving as the State of New York’s deputy secretary for energy and environment and chairman of climate policy and finance. Zaidi was also an adjunct professor at Stanford University, studying the fiscal and financial impacts of climate change, and co-founded Lawyers for a Sustainable Economy. During the Obama-Biden administration, he was associate director for natural resources, energy, and science in the Office of Management and Budget and deputy energy policy director for the Domestic Policy Council. Zaidi has advised nonprofits, including as a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council, and counseled the private sector as an attorney.​
