Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs and Director, Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford University

Alexander Betts is the Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs, director of the Refugee Studies Centre, and a senior research fellow of Green-Templeton College at University of Oxford. His books include Survival Migration, Refugee Economies, and Mobilizing the Diaspora. In addition to his academic publications, Betts has written for Foreign Affairs, The New York Times, and the Guardian. He has been named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, one of Foreign Policy’s 100 Global Thinkers of 2016, and one of Thinkers50’s top 30 emerging business influencers. His two 2016 TED talks on refugees and Brexit had combined views of over three million.
