Abrahm Lustgarten is a senior reporter at ProPublica, writing about the intersection of business, the environment, and climate. A former staff writer at Fortune, his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Businessweek, Scientific American, Esquire, and elsewhere. He is the recipient of a MacArthur grant for international reporting and numerous awards, including a 2009 George Polk Award for environmental reporting for his investigation into the water, health, and climate risks of natural gas fracking. Lustgarten is the author of China’s Great Train, one of The Washington Post’s best reads of 2008, and Run to Failure: BP and the Making of the Deepwater Horizon Disaster.
