Tim Wu is special assistant to the president for competition and technology policy on the White House National Economic Council. His areas of expertise include broadband, competition, and privacy. Prior to this, Wu was a professor at Columbia University Law School. Previously, he was senior enforcement counsel to the New York attorney general, an advisor at the National Economic Council, and an advisor at the Federal Trade Commission. Developer of the Net Neutrality theory, Wu is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times. He is the author of The Master Switch and The Attention Merchants. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Wu has been named to the Politico 50 and America’s 100 most influential lawyers lists.
