Susan Engel

Susan Engel is a senior lecturer in psychology and The Class of 1959 Director of Program in Teaching at Williams College. Her research interests include children’s narratives, play, the development of curiosity, and more generally teaching and learning. She has written four books: The Stories Children Tell, Context is Everything, Real Kids, and Red Flags or Red Herrings and is currently penning two more. In 1997, Engel co-founded an experimental school in New York, where she continues to serve as educational advisor.
