Sherrie Westin is President of global impact for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and educational organization behind the TV show “Sesame Street,” where she leads efforts to serve vulnerable children through mass media and targeted initiatives. Among other accomplishments, she spearheaded a partnership to bring early education to Syrian refugee children and championed development of the first autistic Sesame Street Muppet. A former communications executive who worked in the George H. W. Bush administration and for ABC News, Westin was named a Leading Global Thinker by Foreign Policy, one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, and received the Smithsonian’s American Ingenuity Award.
