Founder and CEO, Khan Academy; Founder, Khan Lab School

Sal Khan is founder and CEO of Khan Academy, a nonprofit that provides free online education, and founder of Khan Lab School, a nonprofit laboratory school where he teaches seminars in the humanities and sciences. He launched Khan Academy in 2009 after years of tutoring family members, building software to better scale this work, and posting tutorials on YouTube that reached thousands of students. Previously, Khan was a senior analyst at a hedge fund and worked in technology and venture capital. Author of The One World Schoolhouse, he’s been profiled by “60 Minutes,” featured on the cover of Forbes, and recognized as one of TIME’s100 Most Influential People in the World.
