Robert Newman

Robert Newman is director of AMP Health at the Aspen Institute. A pediatrician with more than 25 years’ experience in global health, he’s also a senior associate in global health policy at CSIS and clinical professor of global health at University of Washington. Previous roles include global head of TB at Johnson & Johnson, CDC’s Cambodia country director, managing director for policy and performance at Gavi, director of WHO’s Global Malaria Programme, CDC team lead for the President’s Malaria Initiative, and Mozambique country coordinator for Health Alliance International. Newman is president-elect of the ASTMH Committee of Global Health and serves on boards at the National Academy of Sciences and Medicines for Malaria Venture.
