Priti Krishtel is a health justice lawyer and co-founder and co-executive director of I-MAK, a non-profit building a more just and equitable medicines system. Krishtel has spent nearly two decades exposing structural inequities affecting access to medicines and vaccines across the Global South and the United States, advocating for equitable COVID-19 vaccine access and ensuring the Biden-Harris administration’s prioritization of equity in the Patent and Trademark Office. Krishtel and I-MAK have developed Participatory Changemaking, a tool to assess the patent system and bring patients, investors, and policymakers together to drive long-term change, along with a 10-point plan for bringing equity into the patent system. Krishtel is a MacArthur Fellow, TED speaker, Presidential Leadership Scholar, and Ashoka Fellow, and contributes to international and national news outlets on health equity.
