Nita Farahany

Nita Farahany is a professor of law and philosophy and director of the Science and Society initiative at Duke University, where she chairs the MA in Bioethics and Science Policy. From 2010 to 2017, she served on the US Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. A widely published scholar on the ethical, legal, and social implications of the biosciences and emerging technologies, Farahany is an elected member of the American Law Institute, member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Privacy, Technology and Values, board member of the International Neuroethics Society, and co-editor in chief and founder of the Journal of Law and the Biosciences.
