Mona Charen

Mona Charen is a columnist, author, and senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. She co-hosts the weekly podcast, “Need to Know.” Charen was Nancy Reagan’s speechwriter, then associate director of the White House Office of Public Liaison, and later helped craft President Reagan’s communications strategy from the White House Public Affairs office. In 1986, she joined the presidential campaign of Jack Kemp. Charen’s syndicated column, launched in 1987, is featured in more than 150 newspapers and websites. She authored two best-sellers, Useful Idiots and Do-Gooders,and Sex Matters, published in June 2018. In 2010, she received the Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Opinion Journalism.
