Michael Eric Dyson is University Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, a New York Times contributing opinion writer, a contributing editor of The New Republic, and a contributing editor for ESPN’s “The Undefeated.” The author of 18 books, his latest is The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America. Dyson has taught at Brown University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Columbia University, and University of Pennsylvania. His honors include an American Book Award and two NAACP Image Awards. Ebony magazine cited Dyson as one of the 100 most influential African Americans and one of the 150 most powerful blacks in the nation.
