Michael Anti, a.k.a. Jing Zhao, is a veteran journalist and political columnist in China who now works for Caixin Media Group. He was a war reporter for the Chinese media in Baghdad during the US invasion and occupation in 2003. He subsequently spent four years reporting for The New York Times. His well-known MSN blog on Chinese politics was removed by Microsoft in December 2005, setting off a global debate about censorship. Anti is a public advocate for Internet freedom and is well versed on the topics of online censorship and innovation, which were the subject of his 2012 TEDGlobal speech. In 2011, he won the M100 Sanssouci Media Award.
