Melissa Chiu

Melissa Chiu is museum director of the Asia Society in New York and its curator of contemporary art. She was the founding director of the Asia-Australia Arts Centre in Sydney, a nonprofit contemporary art center devoted to promoting dialogue in the Asia-Pacific region among artists, writers, curators, and filmmakers. She has curated more than 30 exhibitions with artists from Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Thailand, and Japan, among others, and she is the author or editor of many artist monographs, conference papers, and exhibition catalogues, including One Way or Another: Asian American Art Now. She has also taught at the Rhode Island School of Design.
