Mei-Ann Chen is music director of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Sinfonietta. In 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Helen M. Thompson Award by the League of American Orchestras in recognition of her leadership and commitment to engaging diverse communities of both cities through numerous artistic initiatives. Chen’s career highlights include winning the Malko Competition in 2005; debuts with Chicago, San Francisco, and Detroit symphony orchestras, orchestras throughout Scandinavia and Taiwan; and return engagements with Atlanta, Cincinnati, Pacific, Fort Worth, and other symphony orchestras.
