Mark Smolinski

CMO and Director of Global Health Threats, Skoll Global Threats Fund

Mark Smolinski is chief medical officer and director of global health threats at the Skoll Global Threats Fund. He leads a team that is working on ending pandemics in our lifetime by applying technology to find, verify, and report outbreaks faster. Smolinski has worked for 25 years fighting emerging diseases across the globe. His past positions include director of the Predict and Prevent Initiative at Google.org, vice president for biological programs at the Nuclear Threat Initiative, study director at the National Academy of Medicine, and advisor to the World Health Organization and the US surgeon general. Smolinski is board certified in preventive medicine and public health.
