Marc Morial

President and CEO, National Urban League

Marc Morial is president of the National Urban League, a position he has held since 2003. His leadership has expanded the league’s work around an empowerment agenda, which is redefining civil rights with an emphasis on closing economic gaps between whites and blacks as well as rich and poor Americans. Morial served two terms as mayor of New Orleans, from 1994 to 2002, during which time the city won the All-American City Award in 1996 and the City Livability Award. Prior to that he was a Louisiana state senator from 1992 to 1994. Morial serves as an executive committee member of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.
