Loretta Lynch is US attorney general, sworn in on April 27, 2015. From 2010 until her appointment, she led the US Attorney’s office in Brooklyn, NY, where she had previously worked from 1990 until 2001. Lynch was a partner at Hogan & Hartson’s New York office from 2002 until 2010, where she performed extensive pro bono work for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. During her earlier tenure in the Brooklyn US Attorney’s office, she prosecuted cases involving narcotics, violent crimes, corruption, and civil rights, including the the case of Abner Louima, who was sexually assaulted by police. Lynch was appointed by President Clinton to lead the office in 1999.
