Filmmaker; Director, Newtown

Kim A. Snyder is a filmmaker and director of the documentary film, Newtown, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and is being theatrically released in September 2016, with a national broadcast on PBS’s Independent Lens series in late 2016. Snyder’s last feature documentary is Welcome to Shelbyville, also broadcast on Independent Lens. In 2007, Snyder co-founded the BeCause Foundation to direct and produce socially conscious documentaries, many of which have won awards, with campaigns furthering the work of the social innovators they highlight. Snyder’s award-winning directorial debut feature documentary, I Remember Me,  was released in 2000. In 1994, she associate produced the Academy Award-winning short film Trevor.
