Kevin Sabet is director of the Drug Policy Institute at University of Florida. In 2013, he co-founded, with former congressman Patrick J. Kennedy, Project SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana), which advocates for an approach to marijuana policy focused on health and recovery. From 2009 to 2011, he was a senior drug policy advisor to President Obama’s drug control director, and from 2003 to 2004 he was the senior drug policy speechwriter in the Bush administration. He also served in the Clinton administration as a drug policy researcher. Sabet is the author of Reefer Sanity: Seven Great Myths About Marijuana.
