Jon Meacham

Jon Meacham is a presidential historian, contributing writer to The New York Times Book Review, and contributing editor at TIME. He is currently working on a biography of James and Dolley Madison. Meacham’s latest book, Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush, was a No. 1 New York Times best-seller, and American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House was awarded the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for biography. Other best-sellers include Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power, Franklin and Winston, and American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation. A Council on Foreign Relations member, Meacham is a distinguished visiting professor at Vanderbilt.
