Joel Sartore

Photographer; Author; Founder, The Photo Ark

Joel Sartore is a photographer, speaker, author, teacher, conservationist, National Geographic Fellow, and regular contributor to National Geographic Magazine. Specializing in documenting endangered species and landscapes to show a world worth saving, he’s the founder of The Photo Ark, a multiyear documentary project to save species and habitat. Sartore’s books include RARE: Portraits of America’s Endangered Species and most recently, The Photo Ark.He has contributed to Audubon Magazine, TIME, Life, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated,and numerous book projects. A regular contributor on “CBS Sunday Morning,” Sartore and his work have been the subject of several TV broadcasts, including the PBS documentary At Close Range and three-part series “RARE: Creatures of the Photo Ark.”
