Jennifer McQuiston is an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, serving as scientific advisor for public affairs in the Division of Public Affairs. A veterinarian and member of the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service class of 1998, her work has spanned 16 years and includes heading a team that traced infected exotic pets associated with a monkeypox outbreak and serving on the CDC advance team on 9/11 to watch for possible bioterrorism events. She has received numerous awards, including the Daniel E. Salmon and James H. Steele awards for excellence in veterinary public health.
