Jeffrey Goldberg

Editor in Chief, The Atlantic

Jeffrey Goldberg is editor in chief of The Atlantic, named to the position in October 2016 after nine years as a national correspondent for the magazine. A former Middle East correspondent and Washington correspondent for The New Yorker, he spent several years as a writer for The New York Times Magazine and began his career as a police reporter for The Washington Post. Goldberg has been a fellow of the American Academy in Berlin and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. A recipient of the National Magazine Award for reporting, among other honors, he has interviewed and profiled leaders including President Obama, Benjamin Netanyahu, King Abdullah II, and the Taliban’s Mullah Omar.
