Co-Founder and Principal, Green Squash Consulting; Author, Green Deen: What Islam Teaches About Protecting the Planet

Ibrahim Abdul-Matin is principal of Green Squash Consulting, a management consulting firm he co-founded in 2018 that works with people and entities committed to equity, justice, and protecting the planet. He’s also a senior fellow with Interfaith America and New Yorkers for Clean Power. Abdul-Matin previously worked in environmental protection and sustainability in New York City government, consulted for green organizations, and researched culture change, among other roles. He authored Green Deen: What Islam Teaches About Protecting the Planet. Abdul-Matin’s board service includes Sapelo Square, celebrating and analyzing the experiences of American Black Muslims; The Scherman Foundation, which supports the arts and organizations using community organizing to build a more just, sustainable, and equitable New York; Green City Force; and Collective Diaspora. He sits on advisory boards for the Trust for Public Land (New York State), Union of Concerned Scientists, and International Living Future Institute.
