Howard Fillit is the founding executive director and chief science officer of the Institute for the Study of Aging, an Estée Lauder family foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, a public charity. Since 1998, the foundations have provided over $60 million in funding to more than 400 academic and biotechnology drug discovery and development programs. Fillit has had a distinguished career at The Rockefeller University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he is a clinical professor of geriatrics, medicine, and neuroscience.
