Hilary Tompkins is a partner and environmental lawyer at Hogan Lovells law firm in Washington, DC. She has over two decades of experience in public service in the areas of environmental, natural resources, and energy law. A member of the Navajo Nation, Tompkins is also well-versed in Native American law. Prior to this, she was a solicitor of the US Department of the Interior, appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the US Senate. Previously, Tompkins was chief legal counsel to former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson and oversaw issues involving climate change, conventional and renewable energy development, and environmental compliance. Tompkins is a trustee of Dartmouth and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences Commission for Accelerating Climate Action.
