Gary Samore

Executive Director for Research, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School of Government

Gary Samore is executive director for research at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is also a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and president of United Against Nuclear Iran. He served for four years as President Obama’s White House Coordinator for Arms Control and the Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism. In that capacity, he was the US Sherpa to the Nuclear Security Summits in Washington and Seoul. Samore also served for four years as President Clinton’s senior director for nonproliferation and export controls and in the State Department working on nonproliferation issues in Asia and the Middle East.
