Fred Barnes

is co-founder and executive editor of The Weekly Standard. Previously, Barnes was a correspondent for The New Republic, The Washington Star, Baltimore Sun, and The American Spectator. For more than ten years he was host, along with Mort Kondracke, of “Beltway Boys” on FOX News. Barnes appears regularly on FOX’s “Special Report with Bret Baier” and hosts Voice of America’s “Issues in the News.” Formerly, he was chief correspondent on the PBS’s “National Desk” and host of Radio America’s “What’s the Story?”. Barnes has written for Reader’s Digest, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Washingtonian, and both The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Times of London. Barnes is the author of Rebel in Chief: Inside the Bold and Controversial Presidency of George W. Bush (Crown Forum, 2006).
