Frank Bruni is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times, since June 2011 focusing on American politics, higher education, and social issues, in particular gay rights. Previous jobs at the Times include writer at large for the Times Magazine, chief restaurant critic, Rome bureau chief, and Washington reporter from 1998 to 2002, covering George W. Bush’s initial presidential campaign and early administration. Bruni is the author of three best-sellers: Ambling into History, the memoir Born Round, and Where You Go Is Not Who You’ll Be: An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania. He recently co-authored his first cookbook, A Meatloaf in Every Oven.
